For wheel and tyre packages, goods are shipped with the tyres fitted and balanced to rims and wrapped face to face with adequate insulation to protect the wheel face from damage. They are then strapped and taped in a manner that they will not burst apart. Where the rim style does not allow the faces to be wrapped face to face, rims and tyres are shipped in singles with adequate insulation and strapping to protect the wheel face.

For rims only sales, rim faces are insulated, then double boxed and strapped face to face so as in the unlikely event that the package is dropped, only the inside of the rim could be affected. With the double boxing, damage is still highly unlikely to even the inside of rim. Where the rims are shipped in singles, they are insulated and usually triple boxed so as to allow for the possibility of poor handling through the shipping process.
